NYC Citizen Corps invites you to the 2014 Disaster Volunteer Conference: "Breaking the Technology Barrier"!

The Disaster Volunteer Conference was first launched in 2007 and brings together volunteers that are involved in disaster response and recovery work. This year's conference will focus on creative and innovative ways of leveraging technology and social media to help disaster volunteers become more efficient and effective.

Doors will open at 6:00 PM. There will be a light refreshments available. The program will start promptly at 6:30. The NYU Kimmel Center is fully accessible. If you need any other accommodations please indicate them through the event registration.

The NYC Citizen Corps is part of the national Citizen Corps initiative to bring together local leaders from community organizations, government, the private sector, and volunteer programs. NYC Citizen Corps promotes grassroots emergency preparedness and volunteerism, enabling New Yorkers to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.  NYC Citizen Corps outreach initiatives are designed to support NYC organizations and target the needs of NYC’s most vulnerable populations.  In addition, NYC Citizen Corps supports special projects throughout the year including Partners in Preparedness and National Preparedness Month.
